Trapped nerve or bad circulation. Where can I get it sorted out in Tenerife?

I have been having periodic stabbing pains in my left shoulder, couple with slight pins & needles on and off in my left arm.

Does anyone have any idea what it might be and where I can go to get it treated?

Should I go to the social doctor, or does it need a specialist?

Hi I had something very similiar a few months ago. Couldn't understand why as it was left shoulder area, and into lower neck. ( I am right handed) Pins and needles especially at night in same arm.

I had however done some bookkeeping for a company and sat awkwardly in a really uncomfortable chair. I had 3 lots of deep remedial massage in the area and after the first session I could feel it easing. Now pain free and have not had a recurrence. Did actually go to the doc and she wanted me to sleep in a neck brace at night. So if you know a good sports massage person, have a go. Good Luck, and i hope you are pain free soon

I'll take the pins out of the effigy that I made of you straight away

Don't know the answer - sorry. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

It sounds like a trapped nerve. An Osteopath would do the trick for you Kirsty.....we have one at the centre here.

Hi Kirsty,

Probably best to go to your doctor first to see what he says.

Sounds like a pain, I have had quite a few times, caused by too much time on the computer. I have the habit of leaning on my left elbow when i get tired, while typing with my right hand.
I trapped a nerve which then caused pins and needles in my fingers.

Physiotherapy treatment worked for me, plus doing stretching excercises.

Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Definitely physiotherapy will do the trick. My sister-in-law had the same problem and it was the only thing that helped.

Don't know if it is the same thing but quite often when I have been on the computer for a while [not literally] I get pins and needles in one arm and hand. Are you right handed by any chance?. I am but where I use my right hand for the mouse my left arm must just rest in an awkward position on the desk, perhaps on a nerve, although I don't feel it at the time

It often takes a few days to go but returns just as quick.

I would still get it checked out by a doctor before having any other kind of treatment.

Kirsty, it's best to see a specialist sooner rather than later, cause with this type of pain you tend to compensate by tensing up and moving awkwardly, and you could end up making matters worse. Defo sounds like a trapped nerve.
