Question Is it cheaper to book excursions in the UK or when we get to Tenerife?

    Hey all,

I'm sure this is a question that has been asked before. (I have briefly checked to see if I can find an answer but haven't)

My family and I are coming over to Las Americas in September, I am in the process of checking out the different places to go however I'm wondering is it cheaper to book excursions in advance in the UK or wait until we get to Tenerife and book them from there?

I know that when we get over tour operators will charge more, but is it worth booking/buying tickets through the stalls on the beachside? Or is it just better to book before we come over?

As always thanks in advance for your replies

    Sarah x

I honestly don't know the answer to your question but I sell loads of excursions. We sell from the regular price list that the various attractions provide, so I assume that it is a standard price.

If you let me know which attractions you are interested in, the area that you are staying and whether you want transport included or ticket only, I will let you know the cost.

(Do it by PM though cos the prices including transport vary depending on where you are staying on the island)

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

It is best not to buy them off the tour operators, as you already know.

I prefer to get the promotion flyers once I get in resort, in case any special offers or discounts may be available during your stay.

    Hi Sarah

Definitely cheaper to book here but also when you arrive at the airport there is a company handing out leaflets just outside passport control - Direct Excursions - they´re a reputable company with great trips. Their prices are pretty hard to beat!
    Have a good weekend

    hi sarah,

we booked a dolphin/whale wating trip directly through our reception when we were there in july. the cost was €72. then we found the tenerife excurions office and they charged €70.00. the €2.00 may have been for the bus pick-up. at tenerife excurions we booked a para-gliding trip which was €70.00. we found it better booking through tenerife exursions as we were able to get a taxi directly to puerto colon which meant we didn't have to travel on the bus for over an hour picking up at other hotels.

I found Direct Excursions, details handed out at the airport, very good. You just need to phone to get their good prices and get to one of the trip pick up points.

Quite a few excursion sellers on this forum, myself amongst them. I would say confidently that the excursion shop prices will beat anything you see online and definitely the tour operators.

Good place for you to shop around here!
