Story so far....

My mum left her purse on a market stall in La Laguna back on the 15th June...before they got home, they had a call from a police station there stating it had been handed in.

My sister took mum to collect it.....the police are now saying they don't know where it is, and they will look into it.

They have also been told there is no need to file a report.

It has been 4 weeks now and as you can imagine mum (82) is really upset by it all.

I have tried to ring the lost property lines in La laguna, but I do not speak spanish, and they do not speak English!!!!

Can anyone give us advise as to what to do next.......or do we just put it down to experience.

Are the lost property lines part of the police department?

If you don't speak Spanish, you always need to get a fax number or an email address and give them yours. That way someone can knock up a letter for you

Yes, I think it was part of the police station that I got through to.
