Bringing cats into Tenerife

Hi everybody - Byron here. (Not Doctor Nick)

I'm still feeling my way around these thread things. If this has been asked before, I'm afraid I can't find it, so sorry if necessary in advance.

I'm going to be bringing a whole host of cats with me and the fam when we come out next year. I've researched all the stuff I need to do, vaccination, passports, chips and so on, but one thing puzzles me. Is there no department of the Spanish authorities that I need to inform beforehand or is the paperwork and stuff that the airline need, all I have to do. Someone said I can bring only two cats at a time, but if that's the case, who's counting?

(PS Raining here but brightening up later. Wimbledon's on so we're expecting more rain at least for the next fortnight.)

Have a look on Jets4pets website or give them a ring they will be able to give you mor information
Your paperwork is enough I think or should I say it was

Hi we brought 3 cats with us,only needed the paper work from defra and the vets.The defra website is very useful.Hope this helps.

does anyone know if all the regulations apply to bringing cats into tenerife from another part of spain as what it is from the uk to tenerife????

I think they only need the vaccination certificate stamped by the vet 49 hrs before travel

thanks for that i'll take a trip down the vets then before i leave makes my life so much more easier
