Does anyone have a copy of the NIE form?

Hi, has anyone got a copy of the NIE form that needs to be filled out?
My huby has been trying to get one but had no luck.
He read a story on another forum that the cops(as you need to get it from the police station? Is that correct) out there were giving someone such a hard time trying to get the form.
Can anyone get one & scan it through to me in an email?
I'd appreiate it soooooooooo much.

Have a look here :

If you speak spanish it's pretty easy to understand, but this site tends to have the forms downloadable in PDF. I've got the Residencia solicitud from here.

http://www.mir.es/sites/mir/dni/index.html

Incidentally, did you know you can now apply for your residencia at the Las Americas Cop Shop rather than going to Santa Cruz? Only if you have a employment contract though... otherwise you still have to do the trek up north...

Hi Catteaser

I've got a copy that I can email you. I've also got a translated version so you know what to fill in if you can't speak/read spanish lol! I had no trouble obtaining an NIE form (I left my copy in the UK so I had to go and get a new one from the police station lol) I'll send it in an email as soon as I've found it, it's on my laptop somewhere.........

Can you send it to me too? I will include as a downloadable PDF with both English and Spanish for anyone else that may need it.

What I wanted to know was, when I fill out this form & take it to Tenerife with me, do I have to go to Santa Cruz to hand it back in, or can I hand it back in at any cop shop?

You can hand it in at the Local Policia which isn't far from where you will be staying. Just get in a taxi and say "policia" lol. It'll cost you about 4 euros. They are only open from 9am - 1pm Monday - Friday though.

Best to get there at 9am when they open. They have a queuing system and if you don't get in before they close, you have to go through it all again the next day. It's worth getting up early to get it done and then it's out of the way! Try and take someone that speaks spanish too, as they're not too helpful if you don't.... you can probably muddle through though.

I don't know if everything is getting more relaxed or whether I'm just one lucky sod but I didn't need an NIE number to get a bank account or my telephone and internet. Everyone told me that I would need it but I haven't been asked for it once yet? Maybe it's because everyone thinks I'm spanish?
