How many of the Tenerife Forum members can actually speak spanish?

I was just wondering how many of you can speak spanish?

I can speak a little but not enough to hold a whole conversation!

I intend to learn when I get out there. I'll have classes. If my children will have to learn it for state school, then I will make the effort also.

I think Spanish is a lovely language & wish I could speak it already.

It can be very useful to learn a few words and phrases for your hol!
Its amazing how differently you will be treated by the locals if you show yourself to be making the effort!

I prefer spanish to french as well but we only had the option of learning french or german at school otherwise I would of taken spanish.

I'm still in the learning process but I'm getting there slowly, it's amazing how I find it so much easier to get by with a few words I now know.

I too wish I could speak spanish already, I find it a very lovely language.

I live in a Spanish village, so I have learnt a lot in the 2.5 years I've been here. I wouldn't say I am fluent, but I can speak to Telefonica etc when I ring up, so I must be reasonably good!

I understand more than I can speak as well. I can figure out what a lot of words mean now especially as a lot of the words are similar to engish and french
