Thumbs up Spanish translation for herbs

I found this list of translations on another site and thought it would be handy to post on here. I remember going to Mercadona for the first time and tried to find Tumeric. I found something that looked like it but I wasn't a hundred percent sure so I took a note of the name and looked it up. I was infact right so the next trip I took I went and bought it. I think that's a good way to buy stuff if you're not a hundred percent sure what you're buying otherwise you could end up eating all sorts!

Anyway, here is the list

  • Parsley = Perejil
  • Basil = Albahaca
  • Thyme = Tomillo
  • Mint = Menta
  • Coriander = Cilantro
  • Sage = Salvia
  • Rosemary = Romero
  • Tarragon = Estragón
  • Bay Leaves = Laurel
  • Cumin = Comino
  • Mixed Herbs = Hierbas Mezcladas

Well the latin name for the evening primrose plant is Oenothera biennis and oil is aciete so I guess if you asked for aciete de Oenothera biennis you might get somewhere. They'll might know it as evening primrose in the herbolarios, but just go in to one, you should recognise it from the picture of the flower on the box. Hope this helps.
