What is the Spanish word for 'case'?

Hi.
Can anybody tell me the word used by supermarket staff for a case?
In Superquinn, a case was the container that the individual units of a product were delivered to our store in, for example, one case of 1KG Corn Flakes had 8 units, and so on...
I eat and drink a lot, and I'd rather buy full cases of what I buy, as in a case of nectar melocoton, a case of frutas y fibras, a case of spaghetti, and so on.
Then I can just stop a worker and say something like "Queria uno **** de nectar melocoton, por favor?" Is that it?
Thanks.
Dave.

This is probably not helpful but if you buy in bulk, so to speak, have you tried 'Macro' it's a cash and carry and near to 'Leroy Merlin' on the way to La Laguna.
You do need a card but how you get one I have no idea. Thats the unhelpful part. They also do a good price on diesel 92 cent per Lt not sure on petrol

Caja is 'box' (literally) if you are talking about a holiday case then it would be 'maleta'.

Yes in our local supermercado Caja for a large box or crate

carton or paqueta for smaller items

ie I think 200 cigs would come in a carton and una paqueta maybe for a pack of 20.

Yeah, I've met a few English managers in the past, and they found it hilarious when we spoke of "cases" and vice versa regarding "outers"...
Thanks!

a good spanish reference site is http://www.wordreference.com/es/tran...?tranword=case and at the bottom of the page you also get forum discussions on the particular word(s) where you could sign-up and post questions.
