The Missus and myself are soon going to book our holiday hopefully to Tenerife for early January 2009 having had to recently cancel our summer holiday due to her having blood clots. I wonder if anybody can tell me if there are any good Karaoke bars in either Las Americas or Los Cristianos. Also having read some forums it seems that Las Americas nightlife is more suited to the younger generation (we are both young at heart 47 year olds) is this the case in January or is it suitable for us ol fogeys

We always go to The Cheshire Cat! It's a brilliant bar and the people are so friendly. It is under what used to be the old market in Torviscas

i think the star bar with dave tappin would suit your needs very nice bar great for families,food nice too it can be found in garden city just of exit 29.

Shakespears Bar in Los Cristianos is a family bar and resturant with Karaoke 7 nights a week, your compere is Ray King and is known for his bad taste in shirts. It is situated just across the road from Paradise Park Hotel.
Clientle just keep coming back year after year good fun too.

Looks like we will be staying in Colon II apartments. It looks pretty central there to me looking at some maps. Can you point us in the direction of some good Bars (karaoke and otherwise)in the vicinity. How far is it on foot to Los Cristianos from The Colon II?

walk out of the colon 2 if you turn right and walk about 5/10 minutes you will hit veronicas, where its lively and mainly for the young ones (18/20's) if you turn left out of the colon than you will see all the bars and restaunts straight away, and thats the way to los christ awell around 25 minute walk or so.


the colon 2 if you ave never stayed there is a really good base for your hols, i will be there in 6 days 13hours 47 minutes 54 seconds

Well as he's just introduced himself on the forum, I'm surprised Graham from Brewers Droop is not on here directing you to his bar. The Brewers Droop is a really good karaoke bar and not far from where you are staying.
If you turn left when you come out of your apartments and carry on along passing the Las Palmeras hotel on your right, the Full Monty, who have a karaoke slot also, further on past 3 restaurants, the last of which is I think called Daniels and then take a sharp right down a lane you will come to Brewers Droop, which is purely karaoke and has a really good system.
Its about 5 mins walk from your accommodation.

Personally, I only go to karaoke because my other half likes to sing, I don't really understand people going in to them if they are not singers themselves - there's loads of really good professional entertainment out there.

And Graham, if you do come on here - watch out we'll be in to see you in two weeks time when we are out again. If you don't know who we are - you will remember when the other half requests his new favourite song - Valerie by the Zutons!!!! I think we'll deserve a drink for making this recommendation!
