Question What is Veronicas strip in Playa de las Americas like these days?

is it still rowdy etc at night. Saw a programme the other day Tenerife Uncovered on sky from 99 following some people on a club 18-30 holiday. They were spilling out onto the road etc and one bloke had dropped his trousers at the front and generally they had drunk too much.

Has it changed much? The programme is almost 10 years old now. Never been down there at night never wanted too.

Its so different from the other part of LA by the fountains and the crazy golf (harrys bar) etc its such a lovely area. They have gone upmarket there.

Cool veronica's

its still a bit rough down there......probably not as bad as it used to be!
Depends of course what you are looking for in tenerife....The tv programes never really show the nicer parts of tenerife as its not good viewing.
Perhaps we should start a thread on this forum highlighting the better points about about tenerife.................

The strip has been tidied up a hell of alot since 99' I had just moved over for the first time around when they were filming Tenerife Uncovered. I was only young at the time and spent alot of time down there, I seen alot of things happening that luckily most of us will only see on the tele! (not pleasant!)

Anyhow without going into any of that, it has calmed down since, I don't go down very often and if I do i normaly go to the starco, where tramps, rags and Linekers and loads more decent bars/clubs are. This is across the road from Veronicas but further up walking towards Los cristianos way.

Im not saying the strip is safe now, but its alot quieter, the pick-pockets have all been moved on, again though not saying their are'nt any but not like it used to be, to be honest there is actualy more PR's down there than tourists!!!

It depends what you want, all I would say is try it one night and see if it's your'e scene or not. Me I will only stick to the Starco once in a blue moon, too old for it now!!!

It´s rough and over priced. They do seem to have 5/6 coppers stationed around that area on an evening now.

I think that they have cleaned the area really well and it´s a fun place for young people to go out and have a laugh if you are looking to go clubbing then Veronicas can offer you that! Drinks in nightclubs are often a bit more expensive than other bars.

We stayed in Playa for the first two week of August and went down the strip and starco's frquently. We were two familys and had children of 14,12 & 11 with us and they loved it down there. We went early though only stayed till around till midnight then went down to the quieter end near the full monty pub etc never seen any trouble and got good deals on drinks as kids got free drinks. We haggled as it was 2-4-1 but made sure we got free cocktails and shots. Was much cheaper for us as a family to drink down their. Always got a good deal in the WKD bar! some of the PR's on the strip can be pains though. Not anywhere as bad down there as people made out. Can't wait to go back over again.
