Goforgold's experiences in Tenerife with dog walking and dongles!

    Phew!!!!!

You would not believe the lengths we have gone to, to buy this Dongle - it would read like War and Peace and I can't even bear to re-live it, except to say so far this holiday has been like a Busman's - hours messing around with computers and dog walking. I must say the dog walking was very rewarding.

Going to K9 tomorrow and then back to LA at 3.00pm on Tuesday.

Met up with YG, Heffy and Warmwind at Las Chafiras and after some refreshment set off for LA. Heffy was armed with tons of bleach and had the biggest broom I've ever seen!!!! We met up with Christina, picked up some dogs and off we set. Typical, OH had a very docile dog that walked nicely by his side and I had the one that pulled!! OH didn't offer to swop!! We had a lovely walk to a watering hole and the dogs had a swim and stopped to eat some snacks we took for them. After a time we took them back and they looked a lot more relaxed for having some time out.

Once back at LA I spotted the dog that I fell in love with when I saw him in a photo a couple of weeks ago. He was trying to lie down on a step, but had no room. Eventually he managed to slide his legs down and just managed to lie there trying not to slip off. He is similar to a greyhound, so elegant. He desperately needs a soft duvet for his elbows. I am going to meet him on Tuesday for a walk. It will be hard to take him out but I have to do it.

Christina, who goes every day, except Wednesday, is fantastic with the dogs - a wonderful lady. If anyone does have time to meet up with her and take some dogs out, I'm sure you won't regret it. Trainers or walking boots would be ideal - Crocs were good, but a bit awkward on the small stones. They came in very handy when Heffy threw a ball into the water and the dog I had on lead dragged me in!!

Met up with Sharon yesterday from the Sharon and Tom partnership. Lovely lady too. She very kindly gave us a tour around The Golf in her massive Ford Ranger and showed us around her home - What a lovely kitchen Sharon !! (she'll know what I mean!!).

Great to meet YG after reading his posts and I can tell you he is as nice in the flesh as he is on The Forum!! Lovely to meet Heffy - he's a great man too. However I am worried about his ankle. He didn't do himself any favours walking today, he should have been sitting at home with it up!!!

Disappointed not to meet up with D J Dangerous I heard he'd had a night on the tiles looking for pussies, but wasn't very successful . Isn't that the story of his life??!!

Lovely to meet Warmwind, the Austrain lady and another lady from the Forum. Looking forward to seeing the photos Warmwind took. I have taken a few but won't even begin to try and download them. I need a rest!!

Sorry the post is a bit disjointed but difficult on the Netbook and the long 3 days we've had so far. Took 3 days to sort the dongle out.

Oh forgot - I have text Paul, but again sorry The Royale didn't have your left luggage!! Jimmie says he didn't understand you on the phone and just said 'yes' to everything!! I went down twice to make sure the bag wasn't there.

Well I'm off for a rest. I need to recoup for the barraquitos at O'Jangles - I did find it in the end - but that's another story!!

Your photos were excellent - the dogs did enjoy themselves and we did too.

We're going to K9 for 10.30am tomorrow and LA at 3.00 Tuesday. It would be great if anyone could join us Tuesday - there's always room in the car for a couple of people and now I have a dongle I can always be pm'd

depending on how long you are there If its short term buy a pay as you go from vodaphone approx 60 euros and your monthly top ups, or a contract 20 euros a month, we used the vodaphone shop in los christianos they were very helpful

Well, after War and Peace we bought one from Comet Los Cris but then had to go to the retail Park just past Siam Park to the Orange shop to get it registered - there may be an Orange shop at the back of Las Vista Beach in the El Camison block of Shops - we only came across Telephonica and Vodaphone. We stood for hours in Vodaphone only to get to the counter - you need your Passport to Register the Dongle!!!!

Orange dongle was 49euros and then 20 euros for a week's use or 3.90 euro per day. Not sure if Vodaphone do offers on buying credit. Vodaphone was 53 euro for Dongle. We just couldn't face the queue in Vodaphone. At the Orange shop just past Siam Park today at 5.00pm we were the only ones there. So upshot of it is, don't buy Dongle from Comet!!! As they cannot register it, but they can put credit on your Dongle!!

    Hope this helps.

As regards naming names, Gary is in blue T shirt and sunglasses and I am in black shorts, hair tied back with black bobble and light green T shirts and in the water with my back turned to the camera!! I won't incriminate anyone else!!

Hope you will go to LA when you're out next time

Can anyone tell me if Vodaphone/Orange are about the same as far as buying credit is concerned?
