As it is fast approaching my sisters one year anniversary of her death from cancer. Her husband, and lots of other pro-am cyclists are looking to raise money from a sponsored bike ride.
Various routes are being considered, but one that they require more information on is UK to Tenerife.
A lot will depend on the length of time they need to spend on the ferry. (he can't have too much time away because of the kids) He is also hoping to entice a few of the old professionals out of retirement too.
So, can you give me a hand with routes please.
Basically I said, he needs to get to Cadiz. Are there any alternative routes where there will be less time on a ferry? Or they can even incorporate flying.
We are predicting around 2,500 miles.
Thanks in anticipation
Ps, before you say it, I agree, they must be off their rocker!!![]()

Tenerife Stig and myself have driven several times and used a couple of different routes, France is very straight forward and relatively flat, Spain however has some big mountains, our van struggled. If you don't want to get caught with lots of mountains, avoid Madrid and use the route that runs down with the border of Portugal, have also driven through Portugal for a change which is quite nice.
If you would like any more info please PM me I will be happy to give you some ideas for your route and places to stay en-route.
Good luck.

we made the journey here from barcelona and the ferry crossing from cadiz is almost two days! we have also driven through france and spain a couple of times but to be honest when you are driving you tend to use the toll roads as they are quiet and faster, i would imagine cyclists would be using the normal A type roads
sorry i can´t be of much help, i think its a great idea though and wish them all good luck doing it
try one of the european online route finders, i would imagine you´ll get some useful info there
wish i could be of more help but its been a long time since we drove accross!!!
