the key to succesful shopping in Tenerife is to SHOP AROUND never buy at the first shop, no matter what you are buying, if you can check the internet first even better so you have an idea of a price before you start.
Normally I am usually quite cheerful and happy, but today, I am really fed up with people trying to rip us off. The biggest culprits in Tenerife are the Television people, the suppliers I mean, been ripped off three times, never again. Then today I went to a Chemist in Las Americas for some Zantac for my other half, the one near Veronicas, he gave me the tablets, and said "that will be fifteen euros", I said no thank-you I do not think my Husband pays so much, then I went to San Eugenio, to the Chemist there, they were twelve sixty five euros, you would think they would be a standard price, they are probably cheaper else where, (does anyone have a cheaper alternative for "Acid Reflux". Then to top it all I went in the Asian Shop, Dreamland on the corner of the San Eugenio Shopping Center, for a Wii Fit, the man said "that will be seventy euros" so I went to get some money, when I came back it was one hundred and thirty six euros in total, I told him I had just been quoted seventy euros five minutes ago, to which he replied, ah but Madam that is just for the board, the D.V.D for the excercises, is not included, only one for yoga, the he said are you are Resident? in that case it is one hundred and five euros, in total. I decllined his kind offer and went to Maya, in Las Americas, it was sixty eight euros for the board and the D.V.D. so I am feeling rather agrivated because there seems to be no set prices, or any control over what people charge you over here.![]()

as far as I know the, generic brand for Zantac is Ranitidine.Zantac is the brand name that its makers Glaxo Kline market it under.Generally speaking if you buy it under its generic name it will be cheaper. It is the same drug, just made under licence by another drug company.
If you ask for ibuprofen in a Pharmacy it will be cheaper than nurofen but it is the same thing.
As these are medical drugs we are talking about, don't take my word for it,please get someone to confirm what I have just said.It should say that it is Ranitidine on your Zantac packet also.

For some reason its the shops run by Asians that have the "creative" pricing policies. That is not rascist, just fact. It tends to be either the electrical shops or hand bag / leather / gift shops. There are never any prices on display. I went into one with my mum in law on Sunday in Los Cristianos as she wanted a bag. She saw one, asked the price, and he said €105. I told him he was having a laugh asking that for a copy Gucci, and he said well its a good copy you can have it for €65. By the time we were walking out he was after us, bag in hand saying give me €25, so she bought it. Scandelous!! Another thing, you read from time to time about police raiding premises where there are snide goods, yet in certain areas of town, and on the markets there are hundreds of them. How come they dont get raided, it would be a doddle??

I think the secret is to let the man control the money, you request something, he will then make the deduction as to whither you need it or not and if he decides you need it let him decide where the purchase should be made..
To be honest I do not understand the whole logic behind this theory but I think its to do with women having small brains...![]()
