Do Forum members think it's safe to ride a bicycle from Las Chafiras to Golf Del Sur?
My partner takes the bus to work from Chafiras to the Gulf, and on most occasions this can take over an hour! She has suggested to me that riding a bike would be a much quicker solution. I said “I think not when you see the way some people drive”! Plus you don’t see many people riding bikes on the roads. Does anyone have any statistics on road safety here for bicycles, or would you agree with me that it is too dangerous?
Daz.

Depends what part of the road he uses ,time of day, type of bicycle, if he is a Coward or macho man ,type of clothing, and is prepared to have a few tender places. Good Luck

Take the short-cut
You can cut across to Golf del Sur via the coast path between Costa del Silencio and Amarila Golf.
The whole ride should take no longer than about 20 minutes, and avoids nearly all road.

I think it is important that he is seen on the road, how many times do you see cyclists with no reflective clothing and no lights on when its dark! I for one wouldn't cycle on some of the roads in Tenerife, it scares me in a car! There are shortcuts though avoiding roads, be better to check those out.
Also advise him to buy himself a helmet, one saved my husbands life some 10 years ago.

I've been thinking about the same question myself. Riding down to Golf is fine but riding up that hill after 8-10 beers could be a challenge
