A customer for whom I carry out IT support has been advised that they need to get a Data Protection Certificate, because they hold personal details of their clients on their computers.

I assume that it is similar in scope to the requirements of the Data Protection Act in the UK, but I have not heard of it being applied out here.

Does anyone know where I can find out details of the requirements under Spanish Law, and can you just show you meet the requirements to be issued a certificate or does it have to be prepared and issued by an official body.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know the Policlinic( Dr Spredifico) in Los cristianos now ask you to sign something like that so may be worth speaking to Christine there as she may be able to point you in the right direction.
