Are any other parents fed up that the holidays are over?
Is it just me, or has anyone else got the "end of school holiday " blues. I love Alfie being off school. Why? Well, the three of us are all naturally late risers, and sit in bed chatting and drinking coffee (yogurt drink in Alfies case) until almost mid day. I have a sneaky feeling it is going to be dark when I get up in the morning at 7.30am I enjoy sitting up watching TV late with him. I HATE the school run (El Med to Cabo Blanco) although a car share has eased the burden somewhat. The fitting in of homework, keyboard practise AND playtime before bath time. I just think there is more freedom in the hols. OK he has been away from us for one month of the hols so it seems to have flown by, but does anyone else feel the same, and why?? ............or will you be shoving them through the school gates with a grin on your face in the morning??

I totally agree with you Suzy, I have enjoyed my time with my girls, and the thought of getting up at the crack of dawn and trying to organise school lifts to coincide with my new job is giving me a headache!!!
Back to stressful homework, taxi drving to 2 different schools, and the added stress of my eldest doing her GCSE's this year.....

I feel the same to some point! I have had lie ins and relaxing days ,believe it or not! I have enjoyed spending time with the kids and also having get together days with my friends and there kids, not had very good weather though. We have all missed the holiday to Tenerife we were suppose to have in July but work permitting we couldn't go and had to change flights
But i must say that i am pleased they are going back to school purely for the routine to come back into place not only for the kids but for hubby and I We are eating at a sensible time, kids are going back to bed at a normal time to! but not looking forward to homework though, now my little boy starts school in 1 week so 3 lots of homework to check and help with Also found myself a bit lazy when they were off so me to have got back into the housework and shopping routine

I also love to spend lazy morning's with my daughter watching tv in our pj's and will miss this whilst she's back at school, but i also enjoy a little bit of me time while she's at school and hear the tales of what she's been up to each day, who her new friends are each term and hearing her tell me about all the new things she's learning.
I thought it was just me!!! god i´ve had a good summer with Meg and I wasn´t looking forward to it but I´ve discovered a young clever thoughtful young woman with loads of energy, who has given me a reason to fight on. Maybe not here but for the near future I don´t want her to go back to L.K I LOVE cuddling on the couch, I love reading Roald Dahl til we fall asleep, I love a late breakfast together, just hanging out together. I am not looking forward to early mornings, being on my own in the day, struggling with ENDLESS homework(who understands extrujulas!!) trying to get back into a routine and just not seeing her for 9 hours, OIf I read this it sounds really selfish but guess what, it is and I don´t care and if you think i´ve written it badly **** OFF

I agree with you Suzy and think the school holidays have flown by...getting the girls into bed tonight by 8.15 was a mission and I can imagine they're not going to be in the best of moods in the morning. Oh well, roll on the Christmas holidays!
