Is there a Pet Crematorium in Tenerife or the Canary Islands?
A friend of mine who lives in Lanzarote has messaged me on Facebook and has a big problem, her dog has cancer and needs putting to sleep which is devastating enough but there is no Pet crematorium in Lanzarote.
She says that in Lanzarote they either throw dead animals on the tip or bury them, obviously the tip isn't an option and she doesn't want to bury the dog in case they do decide to move back to England which they are thinking about so they want to cremate it and take the ashes with them if they do return.
I'm certain someone has told me in the past about a pet crematorium in Tenerife or the Canaries but can't remember any details, can anyone offer any info about this, if so they want to know do you need an appointment or just turn up etc.

There is now a pet crematorium in Tenerife (previously there was only one on, I think, Gran Canaria).
One of my cats died recently and I had her cremated, via the vet, and now have her ashes. This was not previously an option before due to the costs of arranging via Gran Canaria.
I can't remember the direct cost - there were a lot of other bills involved at the time as she had been in and out of the vet hospital for a while, medications, etc, and I was rather upset at the time - but I think it was in the region of €50-€70.
My vet is Tierklinik at Adeje and they speak English.

When our cat died a couple of months back we took her to Hospivet Sur in Las Chafiras where they arranged the cremation and you can collect the ashes if you wish.

Does anyone know the address or it's location?

The crem is in the north apparently. It is a dream of Eugenios to provide this service in the south eventually (when he has land and a proper rescue centre). He says that legally you cannot put dead animals in the bins or bury them on public land, and that it is the duty of the ayuntamientos to provide somewhere. Obviously, they dont, which leaves many people no choice. My pal had her dog flown to Gran Canaria for cremation and received her ashes back a few days later. That was organised by Ignacio the vet from Las Galletas.
