Are the alterations on Los Cristianos Harbour Beach changes for the better?

Went to the Los Cris beach today for the first time since all the alterations to the walk ways and beach had been completed (was away on holiday for most of August so dont know when it was finally finished).

First thing I noticed was that Arona have put the same pricing policy in for beds/umbrellas that they have on Las Vistas. You cannot just hire a bed, must come with a brolly, hence 6 Euros!!!

Second, and I dont know if there was an unusually high tide today, but the way they have moved the sand about, at the corner of the beach where we go near SubWay, all the sunbeds were in the water. As though they have put in channels to send the tide as far up the beach as possible. In the very far corner, near the big "Bahia" restaurant is, the water was at the beachfront wall!!

I saw people who had to move back from the beds they were on to ones not in the water (they had bags etc under their beds that were going to get water logged) and the guys who collect the money for sunbed hire were asking for them to pay again unless they could show their ticket that they had already paid.

Did I just pick a day with an usually high tide or is this the norm now on Los Cris harbour beach ?

You get the highest spring tides of the year around this time, and in September, and also the lowest neap tides.

Either way, sounds like wet feet and floating sunbeds for a few weeks - or perhaps more sand??
