Do Airport Taxis in Tenerife have car seats for young children?

Hi There,
I'm sure some one will be able to tell me if airport taxis have child seats in their cars,is it a law in Tenerife. We'd be giong to Los Cristianos with a 4 year old and a 15 month old baby?

I'd ask these people:
Tenerife Airport Taxi Transfer | Taxis from Tenerife South Airport
They are authorised booking agents for the Granadilla Taxi Service which serves Tenerife South Airport. They'd be able to advise you on what's needed.

Let us know what Tenerife Transfer tell you .. to be quite honest, I have never seen a taxi anywhere in the world with child seats - not that I travel with young children, but I have taken an awful lot of taxis in the last 20 years or so.

What I have seen is parents checking in child car seats as luggage on the way over to Tenerife - presumably they are planning to hire a car when over here.

problem solved.

Hi Doreen,

Just to let you know we got fixed up witha minibus with child car seats via Tenerife travel.co.uk.which advertise on this site You said you'd never seen any taxis with child seats worldwide, but it's the law in UK and most taxis have at least one in the boot that can be fitted quickly.I wouldn't think any would drive around with a permenantly fitted one though.

Thanks for info, got fixed up with Tenerife travel.co.uk who advertise on this site

Glad to hear you are sorted ... and via the forum too

Just to note that it is not actually the law in the UK for children travelling in taxis - In a licensed taxi or licensed hire car, if a child restraint is not available then the child may travel unrestrained in the rear. This is the only exemption, and has been introduced for practical rather than safety reasons Seat Belt and Child Restraint Law 2006 discussed here

Re UK Law

Thanks Doreen for that info,I'm sure some body told me that it was the law a while back when I had to use a taxi instead of my car to take my grandson to nursery one morning and I must have been lucky the few times I've done it since.
Good old Tenerife forum Eh.

Re Tenerife Transfer

Thanks for info Mick but I'd already booked with them last week after seeing their ad.on the forum site.
Booked the EXPRESS DIRECT option which I considered a good deal.
