Question Is it very empty in December in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife?

Coming to Tenerife at the beginning of december. is it at least a bit crowded there at this time of year or are there only very few people? Hope the bars like dubliner and oreillys are not empty in december? can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot

You hit the nail on the head, you came on boxing day!
The poster probably didn't want to hear this but the first three weeks of December are very quiet, in fact a number of bars and restaurants close for the first two weeks for their holidays ready for the very busy Xmas and New Year weeks.
You tend to find it gets busy the Friday before Christmas and dies again the first Friday after New Years Day.

Also at the beginning of december? Do you live there or have you been there at that time before?

I'm sure the dubliner will be open it is one of the bigger bars with staff, it is normally the smaller ones that close.
I have lived here for almost 4 years and use to have a bar so i know what i am talking about, it is quiet the first two weeks of December, but there are busy areas, Parque de la Paz is always busy, El Mirador area in Los Cris is busy, a holiday is what you make it not how busy the bars are.
And one thing to think positive about is if you are coming here the first week in December then you will have paid at the very least a half of what the people who are coming for xmas and new year will have done!

Thanks a lot. Yeah, thatīs true, a holiday is what you make of it and iīm sure our holiday will be great as usual. Itīs just not really nice if thre are only 10 people in the dubliner, you know what I mean? The streets and the beach can be really empty, that doesnīt matter, but there should be a few people in the bars so that we are not almost alone there Coming to tenerife for the 7th time in december, but never have been there in winter. Looking forward to listning to the dubliner band, the lizard kings and kick

We lived on the island for a year, including last December. Our 21 year old Daughter was out most nights and had a great time, with most bars and clubs at the younger end doing a good trade.
This year however is in the lap of the Gods; so many people in the UK are not going abroad this year; i am in the travel biz and talk to people every day who tell me the same thing.
This is very much a year like no other and we will just have to wait and see what December brings.
Good Luck and enjoy, it is and allways will be, what you choose to make it.
