Ex Pats vs The rest : The Tenerife Forum difference of opinion thread.

Ive started this thread because this forum is used by people that live in Tenerife, people that wish to live in Tenerife, people that wish to leave the UK and move somewhere, people that visit or live part time in Tenerife, or people that just have a general interest in living in Tenerife, or maybe Spain in General.

I my self have only lived here for two years, there are people on this forum who have lived here decades. Yet we still have people who join the forum, and as much as we, as in the royal we, as i believe would love to help every one. Its not our fault the uk is ripping every one off, its not our fault you come here and get ripped off either.

The more i look back at the uk the more relieved i am that i dont live there, but on the other side to the coin...the grass is never always greener. Lets call this thread 'Im thinking about leaving the Uk for better pastures?'. BE IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE...cus where ever you go...life is life...and will throw things at you, you never ever expected thread!

We go here, from wheres the milk in Mercadona...wheres that? To why do i get ripped of with sunbeds thread?

Price of petrol in the uk...who cares? Price of anything in the uk..who cares?

I read the papers on line daily...but i dont live there...and now i know why. You live with..daily what you live with. We live daily here what we live with. Different priorities in life.

Ok after the essay which probably doesnt make sense...my point.

We argue...discuss..things on threads here...some live here and argue there points of view, and some argue here yet live in the uk, or ireland....from there own point of view. Life here is soooooo, sooooooo different from what people in the uk and ireland expect, and we end up arguing cross purposes because niether side really understands where they are coming from? Does that make sense?

My point of view as being an ex pat and not really liking the uk, or what it stands for is........

    Lets argue!

Generally i hate the English, Scottish and Welsh Proud to be an ex pat and a man of the world!

Why are most of my friends foreign? Discuss!(Usually because they have more interesting things to say!)

There are things i can do in Tenerife that i just cant do in the Uk full stop.I cant go swimming in an outdoor pool just like that i cant go to a beach my nearest decent one is 130 miles from home. The sea wouldnt be as warm anyway. There are no el medanos in the UK either.

I cant eat the majority of my meals in the sunshine only the minority and i cant get away from all these stabbings etc at the moment.

These are a few things that would really make a difference to me.

I hate the UK, I don't feel proud to be British cos we have nothing to be proud about. The country's priorities are the wrong way round, serious criminals are released from jail early to make way for motorists who can't afford to pay speeding fines. We make our exams harder so the kids can't pass them, then give our university places to overseas students who obtained passes far below what our own kids achieve.

The working classes pay, pay, pay through the nose in tax while the rich use legal loopholes like offshore companies to avoid tax, how many people using this forum pay more tax each week than Michael Owen?

You're not safe to walk the streets at night for fear of muggers & rapists, but drop a sweet wrapper or urinate in the street on your way out of the pub & you will be caught on CCTV.

You WILL do this & you WON'T do that, there is no carrot & stick in Britain, just a stick & you will obey it. Where is the future for this once great nation? What was once a world leader in industry. Today we don't train our youngsters, we recruit skilled workers from around the world then our kids pack for them!

The country is in decline, but at the moment that decline is gradual & its going to get steeper & steeper as every year goes by. Tenerife may not be the answer but no matter how bad things seem there, they're worse in Britain

In reply to the above thread, tax planning to minimise legally how much you pay is a legitamate activity. Why would anybody on earth pay more tax than necessary? Out of the goodness of their heart, doubt it! Not planning your tax does mean you end up paying more than is necessary.

Do you think the likes of Michael Owen would risk his reputation for saving a few quid of tax illegally - I doubt it.

Think we should stick to the thread topic and put the green-eyed monsters away on this one.

What are you talking about it looks like a turf war. Why do you bother to discuss the old country (very old and very tired ) like its MPs. Tenerife may not be the Garden of Eden, but Oh Boy its a close second

As far as I am concerned Britain is finished. Its become too soft , let in too many spongers and routinley looks after the " foreigners " above the true Brits. Why should the people who fought in the war so we could live freely be forced , in many instances to pay for care in their old age and so often be forced to sell thier homes to get the care they should receive from the state.

there are of course spongers in all nationalities but as we are Brits we know about the Brits and what happens more because we LIVED there and understood the lingo.

The thing that sticks in my throat the most is the kids. What's up with British kids? If they don't kill themselves, another kid will do it for them, what's it all about? Why do kids want to die? I think I can safely say that when we were kids dying was something that never crossed our minds, either by our own hand or by another kid at school or in the street. I just can't get a grip of that. Is this what they call exciting nowadays? Death!
Politics is politics, they never get it right, but there is something fundamentally wrong with a society whose kids think of nothing else but killing each other or themselves. I don't know what the answer is, I find it very frightening, and I dread to think what England will be like when this generation becomes its leaders and elders -that's if they aren't all dead!!!!
All boys fight - it's nature of the beast-they always did fight, in the playground, in the pub, in the football stadium, etc but they didn't always kill each other! I'm glad we brought our boys here to grow up, it's not always perfect - but they don't and have never had anything to dowith knives guns or nooses, they are what I would call normal kids, they fight like any other lads but they haven't killed any one and wouldn't think of it, and they certainly wouldn't kill themselves, life is far too good to give it up!!!
Oh I guess I'll just shut up now......
    It does matter :)
