Great new business opened in Tenerife : Celebrations card shop in Playa San Juan
I came across a new business yesterday just starting up in Playa San Juan, its a sweet and card shop called Celebrations, it is just opposite the childrens play area at the Alcala side of the town. Owned and run by a lovely couple from the U.K called Dave and Rachel, they are hoping to be open properly this week. There was a write up about the shop in this weeks Tenerife Sun Newspaper. They are specialising in English sweets, greeting cards, telephone top ups and pic-n-mix. It seemed busy and popular whilst i was there even though they was still setting up. I said i would post this on here so forum members could pay them a visit the address is as follows,

Why would they do that? I was purely advising someone not to buy a bar as thousands have tried and failed regardless of how much hard work and effort has been put in, I am glad these nice people have had the sense to try something different than a bar and i hope it works our for them. Just out of interest what was your bar called and where was it? Maybe you should set up some part time consultancy service on how to run and operate a successful bar in Tenerife? That would help you financially and also help lots of other people who may otherwise would be throwing there money away, unless perhaps your business wasn't a bar?

Can't be done like that. Because around every corner there's some stupid piece of legislation that makes a mockery of everything.
No plastic chairs duh! Televisions can't face outwards duh! If you have a radio in your shop you need a music licence duh! One person on the Arona council doesn't think you should advertise with an A board duh! Your ceilings not high enough duh!

I think there's one really bored bloke at Arona town hall that sits around all day making up new rules to amuse himself
Maybe someone should pop up there and introduce him to the forum... that might keep him a bit busier

sorry no miget gems at moment though have over 30 different olde sweets in jarsweighed by the 100grames not the quarter waiting to see how we get on with all the stock we have but if there something we havent got we will try to get the next time open to suggestions rachel
