Has this happened to you yet? The Police have been in this morning, and instructed all the businesses in our row to take all the signs down and forbid us to have A-boards out as well. Even my big sign on the barrier has to go by tomorrow or I will get a fine. This really is going to have an effect on my trade. Ridiculous! __________________ Red Arrow Money Exchange Internet, Cheap International Calls Bookswap, Excursions 6006, CC Compostela Beach I | | | 11th March 2008, 13:46 | #2 (permalink) | | Super Moderator Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Chayofa (surprisingly) Gender: Posts: 4,295 | They target certain areas from time to time. They are very strict in our County here in UK and I am afraid if your A board is of specified weight and size, not dangerously obstructing the footpath nor likely to blow over I cannot see what harm it does. Perhaps you will get away with putting in back out once they move on to another area. Good Luck. | | | 11th March 2008, 14:14 | #5 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Valle de san Lorenzo Gender: Posts: 381 My Mood: | I remember them doing this in Los Cris just after we had designed and organised a new sign for our properties. Luckily we hadnt placed the order for it! sgd __________________ have you looked at this site yet ... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. When they did this in LC, they turned up with a wagon, threws the signs in and gave the owner a 80 euro fine for each sign. Some went and put new ones out the next week and the police came back. | | | 11th March 2008, 14:53 | #9 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Kent/Los Cristianos Gender: Posts: 1,608 | Quote: Originally Posted by 9PLUS With respect to your predicament OP i personally think an overflow of A-boards announcing 2 for 1 offers, football results, the best breakfast in Tenerife and excursion gives a rather tacky imagine. | Agree, and also round El Mirador, in LC these boards only leave room for one person to get past on the pavement, time for another round up I hope. | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Delderek For This Useful Post: | | 11th March 2008, 15:06 | #10 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Miraverde Gender: Posts: 1,014 | Quote: Originally Posted by alphyra they can only make you remove signs from public paths and places. But there are businesses the same as mine not getting this treatment. Bet you don't see any of larger excursion shops signs being taken down.
