The Police have been in this morning, and instructed all the businesses in our row to take all the signs down and forbid us to have A-boards out as well.

Even my big sign on the barrier has to go by tomorrow or I will get a fine.

This really is going to have an effect on my trade.

Ridiculous!

I sympathise with you there Red Arrow, business is hard enough these days without added obstacles in your way. They are very strict in our County here in UK and I am afraid if your A board is of specified weight and size, not dangerously obstructing the footpath nor likely to blow over I cannot see what harm it does. Perhaps you will get away with putting in back out once they move on to another area. Good Luck.

they can only make you remove signs from public paths and places. If the land is not public, they cannot.

With respect to your predicament OP i personally think an overflow of A-boards announcing 2 for 1 offers, football results, the best breakfast in Tenerife and excursion gives a rather tacky imagine.

thinking back, you seem to have got off lightly. When they did this in LC, they turned up with a wagon, threws the signs in and gave the owner a 80 euro fine for each sign. Some went and put new ones out the next week and the police came back.

Agree, and also round El Mirador, in LC these boards only leave room for one person to get past on the pavement, time for another round up I hope.

They can, and they did! My boards are on Comp Beach property.

OK, get rid of them all, and we can then compete on the same playing field. But there are businesses the same as mine not getting this treatment. Bet you don't see any of larger excursion shops signs being taken down.

In this case it will make things worse as I am allowed A-boards outside my shop, which has far less space to play with.
