Is there a restaurant in Los Cristianos that caters for those on gluten free diets?

Am due in Los Cristianos next week for a holiday and wondered if anyone knew of a restaurant which caters for special diets. My condition is Coeliac disease which means a strict gluten free diet.

I'm sure someone will be able to help, but in the meantime, have a look HERE.

Welcome to the forum, by the way

It is something I've never given any thought to but frankly I doubt it, however I'll be equally surprised if there isn't someone on here that can help you. Good luck with your search.

the hotel restaurant of the "jardines del teide" in costa adeje does cater for celiacs, but you have to tell them in advance that you want your gluten free diet. here is the link to its site.

Smile gluten free

Hi, i work in a restaurant in Los Cristianos called Las Pergolas, and our chefs are quite happy to cater for customers on a gluten free diet. We have had quite a few requests for gluten free in the past. The restaurant is next to Summer Nites close to the Mirador complex. We would be happy to try and accomodate you if you pop in and see us. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

I spent a lot of time looking up about this matter when my coeliac friend came to Tenerife. She brought a lot of her own food from the UK.
She found a number of items to eat in Mercadona and bought a big roll of foil for my grill tray so that her toast would not be contaminated by other particles, separate butter and cutlery etc. I felt really sorry for her when we found what we thought was a gluten free menu in a Los Cris. restaurant and they served the soup with croutons on the top! It is difficult to be certain that breaded items have not been fried in the same oil as other things on the menu.
Apparently 'gluten free' and 'coeliac' is not always interpreted in Spain as it is in England.

Gluten free restaurants

Thanks to everyone for their input on this subject. This is my very first dabble on the forum and I am greatly impressed. Not only with my own subject but with the breadth of information and camaraderie across the board.

Gluten free diets

My friend has a website & she makes & sends out delicious gluten free foods to Coeliacs.

I am currently eating her delicious caramel tarts.

Her name is Gill & her website is www.tartemaison.com & she sends out all her homemade products.

Give her a try, you won't regret it
