What do the Tenerife Forum members think about co-ownership?

There has been a lot off discussion on the forum about time share what do the forum members think about co-ownership.?
Tipical costs are 1,990 pounds for one week two weeks 3,980 and for four weeks 5,980. and of course they will be community fees ect . The advantage is you own something and can sell or pass it on to a family member,
So what do forum members think are the pros and cons of co-ownership David

My Mood:
Doesn't sound much different to timeshare

Community fees / maintenance, all the same thing really

and it can be willed to family

co-ownership and the original concept of time share are the same thing.

Lots of happy timeshare owners.......the main reason people sell, is if they need the money, or make a profit. OR because they want to take holidays elsewhere. Timeshares are great if you dont mind going to the same place every year....for how many years?

I think there are other issues - who decides on the colour of the curtains? I'm only half joking, what happens when you have to reach agreement not only with the rest of the community (those of you that have ever been to a community meeting will understand ) But with the "strangers" who own the rest of "your" apartment.

Thats what i was thinking you cant do anything with it you may own it with god knows how many others but it always look the same.It will take years of holidaying to make the cost worth it and when you look at it is amost the same as time share with another name.So does anyone on the forum own a co-ownership apartment and give a true insite in to it. David

I think for that kind of money you could go anywhere in the world for a month, its not something I would be spending my money on

But you do not have to go to the same place year after year, you exchange it and go anywhere in the world!!!!
And at some places you can have your own bits and pieces (such as ornaments and pictures) stored for use when you are holidaying there.
Timeshare is a very complex commodity, it is extremely good value and LEGAL, and most people who don't own Timeshare know nothing about it, but have alot to say about it.
