Babelfish: not perfect, but helps with translations into Spanish.

if anyone has any problems translating from Spanish to English try this link, just copy and paste any text into the box, choose the language you wish to convert from and to and then press translate, not perfect but helps me out a lot, here is the link. http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr all the best Jesse.

Not a problem! The other threads have pointed out the disadvantages, but I think it can be a very useful tool at times for a quick translation, as you say. It allows those with little or no Spanish at least to get the gist of it, even if the translation is grammatically less than perfect, or loses a bit of sense in the process.

If you want to use it to translate INTO Spanish, it's best to write it as simply as you can in English, as more complicated stuff, or ways of saying things that have more than one meaning, can be mistranslated.

For instance... when talking about football 'matches' it translates 'matches' as the ones you use to light a fire with... ie. 'fosferos' rather than 'partidos'

I like www.freetranslation.com, like the other's it's not perfect but it certainly helps when it comes to translating school letters.
