Changing from Telefonica to Direct Telecom

I am about to change from Telefonica 24 hour Dial Up where we pay a fixed monthly rate to Direct Telecoms ADSL.

I am really concerned that I will have problems stopping the Telefonica Service which they have informed me can be stopped within 24 hrs of requesting it.

With their terrible reputation I am concerned that I will keep being billed for a service I no longer need.

Can anyone offer any suggestions.

Old Golfer I think you have misread my post.

It is Telefonica I am concerned about not Direct Telecom

Changing from Telefonica

I did think of that but the bill now arrives after its due date so I don't want to be cut off for paying late.

I can always print it off from their website.

Anyway I suppose I am worrying unnecessarily at the moment

Thanks everyone

Don't worry jaype. I changed to Direct Telecom, and they gave telefonica the 'notice to cancel' and arranged everything else. No problem, apart from a few days with no ADSL whilst the transfer went through.
I was warned by D.T. not to cancel telefonica myself, as it could be a long time waiting to get the line reconnected, ask D.T. they are very helpful, and efficient.
Good luck.
