Car Park Machines in Tenerife.

My mum has been in the Los Cristianos Car Park this morning. She did what she had to do and went to the carparks machine to pay her small fee. The ticket was given back to her and her change was also given. When she got to the barrier to go out, the parking attendant told her she had to pay.
"I've already paid at the machine." she told him, but he was having none of it. After a few minutes arguing, she finally gave up and paid the fee again.
It was only a small amount, but still. We think the attendant was conning her.
Has anyone else ever had the same problem in this or any other carparks?
The machine seemed to be working properly, although there is a possibility that the machine didn't register the ticket as being paid and therefore she had no proof of it being paid.

Did the attendant at the exit barrier present her ticket into a machine which then said the ticket was not valid? If not it sounds like a con.

Was this the Harbour Car Park?

We always use this car park and have never had any problems like those you describe. However a couple of weeks ago when we got to the machine to exit after we had paid our fee there were a couple of men working on it [side off etc] one of the fellas took the ticket off us and put it in the machine himself opening the barrier. Perhaps there is a fault on the machine still?

Sorry Jackie, no, it was the underground car park near the church square.
I think the attendant had put ticket in his machine but not entirely sure. If that is the case, it most likely is a fault with either machine. In future my mum is goin to the attendant to pay so as to be sure she doesn't have to pay twice.

I just really want to warn others that may use that carpark, as they may find they have the same problem

They have had problems there with their machines, but on one occasion recently when I assumed the machine wasn't working, the attendant at the exit barrier refused to let me pay him and insisted I went back to the machine.

This is the first time in 6yrs that she's ever had problems in this carpark. I can confirm that the attendant did put the ticket in his own machine and my mum was shocked that it came up with the 87c to pay again. He wouldn't believe her at all that she had already paid. She does tend to use exactly the same machine every time she goes.
