| Just back to UK from a week in Los Gigantes (Puerto de Santiago), didn't manage to register for this forum in time for it to be any use before we went, but it may come to my rescue now we are back. Is there a regular on here resident in or around Los Gigantes who can act for me? Firstly, in the scramble of getting packed and away at the end of our trip (I escort an 82-year old who can be a bit of a handfull) I parted company with my mobile phone. We left the apartment (Poblado Marinero [next to the marina] room 119) at the last minute and trailed our baggage up to the pick-up outside Little Italy (restaurant). Our airport transfer then broke down en route and we had to switch to another coach at a service station. I finally discovered the loss of the mobile when I went to switch it off for the flight! It is a Nokia 6230 with a deep red shell. I have made enquiries at the Poblado Marinero but it doesn't sound hopeful. It could have dropped out while my coat was draped over the cases outside Little Italy, or been left behind in the coach switch. I have rung it several times, and it was unanswered to start with but now doesn't take calls so it has either been turned off or run out of battery. My service provider says it has not been used to make chargeable calls. If dropped outside Little Italy it could have been handed in there. I would like to enquire, particularly by e-mail, if somebody could find out an e-mail address for me and let me know by PM (private message) on this forum. The second would also be solved by an e-mail to Little Italy. My escort seems to have lost a ladies' belt that goes with her dress. She had it when we went out to dine on Saturday evening, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't left in the room. The only other idea is that it got left at Little Italy, where we had our last meal (though I don't see how it could come off). It is blue and about 15mm wide, with a pattern (matching the dress fabric). If there is anyone who can help I will be very grateful. Ken Update The ladies' belt is a false alarm, it's been found in the packing (but my 82-year old escort neglected to tell me). Phone remains a mystery. I have barred it now, and will be getting a replacement SIM, but I would still like it back. No word from Poblado Marinero so that now seems unlikely. O2 tell me that it made one call after I lost it, to its own number, so it could be that when I can fire up the replacement SIM and access the voicemail I might find a message to my advantage. Latest Nothing on voicemail, or if there was it's been lost. I see no further routes open to me and with regret I now resign myself to damage limitation. |
