here is quite an interesting site about this subject. in the hitchhiker´s guide to galaxy the dolphin footage was shot under the supervision of trainers from the at Loro Parque.

I'm sad to say, neither Star Wars nor Planet of the Apes were filmed in Tenerife. It's a myth that has been around for a long time. Shame, but true.
The only English language 'classic' that has been shot here is One Million Years BC, featuring Raquel Welch in a furry bikini.

Cliff Richard's On the Beach, part of that was filmed somewhere in the Canaries. Also The Ten Commandments.

There seems to be a few urban legends which have sprung up regarding which movies were shot here.The internet movie data base has some information about it Here
