Question I found a lost wallet in Tenerife, what do you think I should have done?

we all no what to do when we find something .. hand it in to the police.. but

i was walking the dogs when i found a wallet . picked it up it had driving licence credit cards and 100 euros.
this is where my dilemma started i knew his name but not his address or phone number. so i went round my complex looking for names on peoples
postbox or doors nothing .went to my local bar got the phonebook to get
his number .. again nothing .so decided to take it to the police now rightly
or wrongly don t trust the police so i wanted to take the money out . my
missus wasn t happy but i was ..
who was right????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????
by the way saw this man looking down the street for something ........................ it was him i had the photo of him on his
licence. he told me he left it on top of his car and drove of .
so everyones happy .... except me and the missus

What's the point of handing in a wallet less the money? That's theft isn't it?

Did you give the wallet to the Police or did you see the man looking for it before you could give it to the police?

How strange. We were walking through San Juan yesterday, when we spotted a vehicle driving off. As he turned the corner his filofax fell of the roof of his van. Although we yelled, he must have been in such a hurry, he didn't hear us.

No money in it, but there was a cheque and, of course, all his work receipts and his telephone numbers. I felt a bit guilty rifling through it, but I found his mobile number on one of the receipts and he came and collected it.

Happen it wouldn't have bothered me quite so much, but I lost mine in a burglary a few years ago........getting those numbers back and losing the precious pics I had tucked inside was hell.

Well done junetta, money is replaceable, but memories are not.

I once worked for a taxi company. The boss had the 2000euro in notes in a brown paper bag and left it on the roof of the car. She lived out in the country and came out of her drive onto the main road and drove to town. When she got to the bank car park she realized what had happened and drove back. A couple were standing on her doorstep with the money. They had seen the bag fly off and the money scatter up the road. They collected it up and waited at the house for here. it restores your faith in human nature when you hear of people like that.
I too think that if you do a good or bad turn in your life it will eventually come back to you. It would be better to hand in the wallet complete with the money in my view then if the money went missing it would be on someone elses conscience not yours.

What goes around, comes around........ In an instance like this, I would try and imagine how I would feel if I lost the item, then head straight down to the cop shop.

To al the honest people out there - good on you.

it's a horrible feeling. I had my bag stolen once and it wasn't the money in it that really bothered me, it was the sentimental things like my mum and dads photos and something my children bought me. That is what hurt the most. So I would hand it in to the police. I am no good at being dishonest.
