Some of you might have problems. Perhaps you have no body else who you can share your problems with and you may feel lonely Here on the forum, you will always have someone to listen and help. Is this a good idea? __________________ www.tenerifehomecare.com | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Cathy For This Useful Post: | | 7th October 2007, 09:04 | #2 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: May 2007 Location: Cheshire Gender: Posts: 2,279 | Quote: Originally Posted by Cathy Some of you might have problems. Is this a good idea? | Up to a point its a good idea but you don't want to be overloading yourselves with someone else's emotional problems. There is such a degree of varying opinions on the forum it might be difficult to get a unbiased opinion.I think as far as problems go the forum seems to help in lots of different ways, there is always someone to talk to at the click of a mouse, but thats my opinion for what its worth,I am not an agony aunt. | | | 7th October 2007, 10:19 | #3 (permalink) | | Banned Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Tenerife Gender: Posts: 9,580 | It's a kind idea, but I think the forum already offers this. In a way, the entire forum is a problem "page"! Anyone who needs help, or wants to talk about something, just needs to post a new thread. I agree with Olly too, that most of us give the benefit of our experiences, but are not professional counsellors in the main. We wouldn't want to take that responsibility, nor give that impression, which a dedicated site would imply. | | | 7th October 2007, 14:04 | #4 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Tenerife Gender: Posts: 1,630 My Mood: | Quote: Originally Posted by Janet It's a kind idea, but I think the forum already offers this. Many 'personal' problems require a one to one situation, which is fine, but having the whole world and it's mother reading about it (bearing in mind that a lot of this forums members know each other), might only serve to exacerbate the problem. __________________ I started out with nothing, and still have most of it left!
