Water was put in my petrol tank in El Fraille!!!

If you like Gasoline you might want to steer away from the filling station at El Fraile as they decided in their wisdom to put water in my tank.

Thus far, the bill is 1,500€ and rising.

BP or Repsol for me in future I think

Too right.

The girl didn't even inspect my receipt, just accepted fault which worries me a little as it's probably a common issue for them.

My only saving grace...

I kept the receipt.

For those that are interested...

CanoCano have been absolutely fantastic in sorting the car out. Anyone with a Seat, Skoda, VW, Audi should definately pay them a visit.

1. Cleaned the lines.

Then, when the head mechanic mentioned the word "bomba" I knew my car was going to be poorly for a day or two more.

2. Changed the pump.

Then, unfortunately they had to order injectors from Germany...!

So, hopefully I'll get the car back next week.

It is infuriating, but they haven't done it on purpose. Quite lot of underground storage tanks contain a small amount of water and petrol stations regularly check tanks to establish how much is in it and have it removed.

This is one good reason not to refuel your vehicle whilst a petrol station is receiving a delivery, or has just had one because the water gets mixed with the fuel - so allow time for it to settle to the bottom of the storage tank. Assuming that wtaer content is very small, it shouldn't be a problem.

It probably isn't a common problem, but if it has happened they will be aware of the problem - unless you were the first to suffer.

On identifying that there was potentially a problem, they will have identified which nozzle the first affected person had used and then removed from service all hoses conected to that particular tank whilst tests were made.

Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Very polite Mike but I'm still furious with them and I asked a previous member of staff and discovered that the tanks were very rarely checked and sometimes not even checked after a delivery.

No excuse as far as I'm concerned.

It made me late for work and will cost the fat end of 2,000€ when complete.
