A supplier of ours is coming out to Tenerife in November for a week at the Club LaCosta, I'm not sure of the exact details but I believe they have to have one of these 'presentation' days.

They have asked me If I know anything about the place or the presentations, they are assuming its a 'time share' type of opperation.

I said I would ak around and see if anyone has any info, so does anyone have a Club LaCosta membership? If so, do you like it?

what they do is they provide you with a free accomodation for a week, during this time one of the reps will come around and invite you to a presentation where they explain you the club la costa system and such. usually this can take anything up from 3 hrs upward, then again, why not taking part in it when you know you have the rest of the week for yourself and a free accomodation.... ( used to work for them once, many many moons ago....and not everything was as bad as it is described sometimes...)

They don't have a good reputationfrom what I've heard Tread carefully

Its not sold as Timeshare but as a Holiday club on a points system

Sunterra is another operation to be wary of

I wasn't having a go at anyone who works for them past or present and I am sure Hopper's friends will have a great time at the resort as long as they do not buy one.

My brother bought timeshare with club LaCosta, but every time he goes on holiday through them he has to attend a "presentation" where they try to get people to upgrade.
He has just come back off holiday to Crete - independant of club LaCosta -and really enjoyed the freedom!

Thanks for the input, its great to get the 'low down' as it were.

I was explaining to my supplier that there were many quality timeshare options in Tenerife and that they are not al bad. I honestly had no idea as to the reputation of Club LaCosta.

I will point them in the direction of this thread and allow them to make their own minds up.
