German Clients We do not have a bar/restaurant but we do - excursions, car hire, boat trips all of which we promote within store and outside on display boards in English and German. We have standard phrases, in German (and French) on our laptops to deal with the most 'popular' questions. This attracts Germans into the store and, since we opened nearly four years ago, we find that a fair proportion of our business is generated from the German tourist sector. We have found that the Germans have no problem with our poor pronunciation and, in fact, this helps to break down barriers and creates a 'bit of fun' atmosphere at point of sale. I often have wondered why a lot of British bars and restaurants tend not to attempt to promote other nationalities - in my view, by having a little bit of extra signage text in German, this could encourage extra footfall. __________________ "Quality remains long after the price has been forgotten" "Always remember that when you point an accusing finger at someone, you are pointing three others back at yourself" To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
