A RECORD number of tourists are expected to fly out of Manchester Airport for next month's half-term break.
The poor summer weather and a growing trend to take more than one foreign holiday a year are behind the great getaway, says airport boss Andrew Cornish.
He says more than 330,000 people will fly in and out between Friday October 19 and Monday October 22 when most schools break up.
About 200,000 are flying out and the rest are flights into Manchester.
