I am sure I have heard an advert about a restaurant on the golf where you pay for the food and drinks what you think it is worth!!!!

Like I say, I don't know if this is one of my weird dreams or if it is true!!

Fab concept but I am intrigued to see how it works and how they make it work

Is it not that cooking programme on the T,V where they take a group of people and make them into chefs and the diners only pay full price if they think it was worth it? Sorry not got a clue what its called though.

Yes it is true, its not a dream. Its the old tapas bar. You pay for your cutlery when you go in (dont ask me how much!!) then you order your food and put what you think it was worth on your way out.

Not sure if he was just doing it for a short time or whether it is on going!

Hi folks we ate at the restaurant you mention on Friday night. It is La Estrada in San Blas ,Golf del Sur.It was and still is an Italian restaurant in the main. You pay €4 each up front for your cuttlery and glass then order the food as you would normally including all your drinks. At the end of your meal you pay literally what you think it was worth no questions asked just put your money in the box.There is also a box for tips as they do not come from the food money.
The owner got the idea from a trip to his home in Germany and if it takes off he will continue. We will definately be going again. As an indication we paid them €40 and a €5 tip for the lot including wine and beers.

Sounds interesting. How many were there for you to feel 40euro was a fair price and what sort of food did you eat? Also, do you recommend it?
