Does anyone else on the forum suffer from sinus problems when they're in Tenerife?
Is there anyone else out there suffers from sinus problems, I find when I come to Tenerife my nose starts to tighten up and the pain gradually building up to my eyes and my forehead it also puts me off balance at times and makes me feel sick. Does anyone else suffer this problem here or in the U.K
I am looking for urgent advice and it would be much appreciated.
Hi, poor you, we get this very regularly. What you need to do is go to a pharmacy & ask for a very strong decongestant, try taking that, if that does not do the trick after a day, go along to UK Dr. in Los Cristianos if you do not speak Spanish & she will give you something even stronger you can only get with a prescription. She only charges 30 - 40 euros for your consultation. The medication will be better than you get in UK or cheaper or both, so maybe worth stocking up before you go back. If you need her phone number PM me & I will give it to you. Hope you feel better soon
I've had perennial rhinitis for as long as I can remember. I've had skin tests and came up against the lot. Fortunately for me I dont have asthma but my nose and eyes sometimes run like rivers!!! Problem is, I hate taking any kind of medication and so most of the time I just get on with it unless it becomes infected and I need antibiotics but that doesnt happen often. I usually just put my head over a bowl of boiling water with a teaspoon of Vick and a towel over my head and inhale that when it gets bad. I have to say though, touch wood, it's not as bad here as it is in the UK.

I used to export a lot of products to the Middle East (as they also suffer lots of Sinus problems) the most demanded product was "Oil of Olbas", which is probably not available in Tenerife, so bring some with you from UK. Its worth a try

Are you healthier in Tenerife because of a better climate?
Just wondering if youre living in a better climate if your get les sick from colds, the flu .........then when you were living in UK or other cold and wet countrys in Europe .
I know when i come to Tenerife i feel better an breed more eazily (have bad lungs) but we never stayed longer than 2 weeks .
How does it affect you when you stay longer and get adapted to the climate ??

In the UK I was always having problems with colds and sinusitis. I have been in Tenerife 3 years, and the only cold I have had in that time was one I caught on a trip back to England. At least it did not turn into sinusitis.

How painful is Sinusitis If I do get a cold while living here I will cope as long as the sinusitis doesn't come with it. I always have a supply of tablets for sinusitis just in case, there is nothing worse
