Totally agree with you, I am shocked, as I have gotten the same response.
a) You dont have too actually have to do anything wrong for a claim to cost yu everything. Defending yourself against a totally ficticious claim could do the damage.
b) If you DO do something wrong you have a responsibility to your client. If you cant cover the clients "damage" you are doing wrong.
c) Most of my clients would be British and we all know what the suing culture is amongst Brits.
