Today's press is dealing with the fact that we are now in the first week after summer, with the inevitable return to "normality" and "work" after the summer vacation ... which lasts a month in Spain (some would say three months in the Canaries). As a result, some professional psychological advice was clearly needed to help Spaniards deal with Post Vacational Syndrome, a recognized set of symptoms which made people unhappy, dreamy, incompetent, unmotivated, unhelpful, difficult ... SURELY NOT!
Anyway, thought you'd "enjoy" a laugh over the advice ... a laugh that should be tempered with the knowledge that we're all going to be on the receiving end of the effects of this advice over the next month or so

Practical Advice for sufferers of Post Vacational Syndrome 1. Don’t try to get up to date with everything you haven’t done for the last month. Leave the more difficult things to last. 2. Don’t try to work normally until you have been back at work for several days. Slowly adapt back to sleep and eating rhythms that have been unsettled during the vacations. 3. Don’t talk excessively to your colleagues about your vacations because this time has gone, and therefore doesn’t exist any more. Concentrate on the future. 4. Start planning next weekend. Dream about something else. 5. Get back to normal leisure time activities. 6. Unpack cases slowly, preparing for the inevitable return to daily routine. 7. Organize your next holiday well to get the most out of it. 8. Don’t have too great an expectation of the benefits of holidays or you’ll feel disillusioned when you get back. |
