A few questions for you...

Are you in Tenerife or UK?
What are the lights? I take it one is power.
Are you using a network cable or is it wireless?

Hi weebengal

Had the same problem with mine. however, my adsl is not with telefonica, its with direct telecom. I rang them and they talked me through the process. Still didn't work so took the router back. they gave me another and bingo, problem solved.

I know this isn't helping you one bit, but it could be re-assuring to know that the fault could be with the router and not you personally.
I am sure you will soon be receiving more constructive help today though.
good luck.

Right now we are getting somewhere.

Go to control panel and open the network connections
You may have more than one item in network connections, find the one for the Telefonica connection.
Double click it on the 'general' page click on properties down to the bottom left. This will open a new window, in the part labeled 'This connection uses the following items' scroll down to "Internet Protocol TCP/IP" left click on this entry, then click on the properties button. On this page make sure 'Obtain IP address automatically' is selected.

Post results in here please.
