Has anyone done this. They grow so easily over here and I love the smell. Are there any other things that you have tried growing from seed that are nice and easy? I am at the minute growing my own garlic, nothing like fresh garlic and it is so easy to grow. I have just popped a garlic clove in a pot and it has only taken over a week to grow. I need to know when the best time is for it to be ready and for me to pull it out?? __________________ www.tenerifehomecare.com | | | 24th August 2007, 12:39 | #2 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Tenerife Gender: Posts: 307 | Tell me more about the garlic...Please, I would love to try that. I would love to grow oranges/lemons too. I tried to grow an avocado, but failed miserably. I am just not green fingered enough. __________________ Printed & Embroidered T-Shirt's, Stickers etc. Also new for 2008... diving trips and scuba courses available.....PM me for more info. | | | 24th August 2007, 14:03 | #3 (permalink) | | Oscars Mum Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Valle de San Lorenzo Gender: Posts: 1,538 | Quote: Originally Posted by geetimuk Tell me more about the garlic...Please, I would love to try that. Just use 1 clove. Only thing is, I don't know if you have to wait until it flowers before you pull them up. __________________ www.tenerifehomecare.com | | | 24th August 2007, 14:15 | #4 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Tenerife Gender: Posts: 307 | Hmm! That could be quite important? Will look it up, I have some old gardening books somewhere. I never thought of growing garlic! __________________ Printed & Embroidered T-Shirt's, Stickers etc. Also new for 2008... diving trips and scuba courses available.....PM me for more info. | | | 24th August 2007, 14:15 | #5 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Costa del Silencio Gender: Posts: 299 | Quote: Originally Posted by Cathy I am wanting to grow a lemon or orange tree from a pip. They use the wild tree (grown from a pip) as base stems and grow a tame variety on these stems . Garlic ; just let it grow till the green shoot dies then pul it out (difficult to grow nice big bulbs , but its garlic even if they are small ) __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!
I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum. I like the 7 deadly sins - it's a good check list! To buy, sell or rent property ... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Within 2 years they had the best tasting lemons and oranges you could buy, maybe it was the dogs that helped with the flavour?? __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Wife planted seed 2 years ago, and we now have an 8' tree with a dozen (somewhat small so far!) papaya fruit. Mind you we don't like eating papaya, but the tree is a good talking point!
