Fiesta in Las Galletas, Tenerife started tonight - 23rd August 2007
Fiesta started tonight in Las Galletas. It is now 2am and my head is numb with Spanish Rap belting through my apartment, Julys Fiesta was brill Spanish/Latino band, families dancing in the square everything a fiesta should be, but THIS!!! By the sound of clapping and cheering from young Spanish crowd they love it but to me it is just a head banging racket AND I WANT TO GO TO SLEEP NOW I am too old for this, it goes on until Sunday I just pray it isn't same every night. I have told loads of people to come, thinking it was traditional fiesta but if it is same 'music' tomorrow I think I will have to go and stay at friends. Oh my God it has finished!! Horray :: night night everyone Thank you for listening

Have you seen those stupid caps that the local boys are wearing? Small type baseball caps, silver design , bright colours, sort of just placed on the very top of their heads.
What sort of wierd cult/youth movement is that?
When I was their age I was wearing a long fringe, grey raincoat, studded belt, all black clothes and boots.

OK I am back with my Fiesta update, after my horrible experience last night/this morning, tonight has been the total opposite, a breath of fresh air. At 10pm a canarian band and group of dancers in their traditional costumes entertained us with lovely music and dance that reflected the side of Tenerife I love and at 12 o clock the last song and dance and then all finished. All I can hear now are the crashing waves and all is well in my world

I thought it would ne better tonight lovethesun, sabrinova and I were at the La Gramola quiz (yes we did win!) when we saw people in traditional costume heading towards the Rambla about 9.30 -
When we used to live in Las Galltas, don't think they had awful rap music for more than one night
But there was one year, in August, when a 16 piece latin band played live till 5am!!!!! rather you than me. But hey, if you can't beat them join them is my advice, you won't sleep either way
I started a new job yesterday and had an induction at 10 A.M in Las Galletas wed morning, the music was going on then and we couldn't hear ourselves think, pity you guys that live there. Saying that if anyone knows a nice three bed UNFURNISHED apartment with sea views for rent please let me know as we really like the place, and also i could help rescue La Gramola from the Darts doldrums they find themselves in if i lived there!
fiesta,s started here tonight, just had the opening fireworks display, apparently today is" para los niños" must say they and the adultos are very noisy, looks like we,ll have to mosey on down and join ,em. but not for too long, probably another day, cos it goes on for 4 days and we have a very important date tomorrow night

Not sure where Tijoco is but I have just seen a firework display from my roof in El Roque past San Miguel way. Good luck to you for the next few days. We had ours here last week. Started Thursday evening and finished Sunday evening with not a lot of resting time in between. Good fun though
