I'm off out to the beach shortly. I know there are many threads on beaches but I wondered what you favourite beach is and why.
We're off to Fanabe today. It's gently sloping into the water and ideal for swimming. There's lots to do round the area if you get bored on the beach.
Last week we went to La Arena near Los Gigantes for the first time. It's a natural black sand beach which gets extremely hot. The slope into the water is quite steep and the waves are quite strong. The beach is very clean and very well kept.
If we want a really quiet day to chill and do nothing we go to La Tejita. It's a fair walk from the car to the beach though. I once had stuff stolen from my car in the car park there so be careful about securing your car if you go there.
El Duque for me. Easy access, parking, comfortable cushions on the beds, spotlessly clean and family friendly. We go on a Sundays usually twenty odd of us. Whilst some of the parents are playing cards and chilling out, the rest of us watch out for the kids, and generally get back to our childhoods.

Las Vistas because it's close enough for me to walk from my usual bars and hangouts, there are bars overlooking the beach that do pints of lager in frosted glasses for €1,50 and I didn't get stung by a jellyfish there
Oh yes and I can wave to my mum on the webcam

Sometimes I take my models to El Puertito for photoshoots, its lovely and rustic, calm.
But I usually go to Torviscas/Fanabe beach as its just an all-round good beach. I went yesterday with friends, and it was lovely!
Oh and another beach I like but I don't know the name of it, is it the same one your talking about Daverock? It's by the Los Gigantes port, down a little alley by a restaurant...It's lovely! Black sand and boats by the rock cliffs.

My fave beach has to be playa la pinta, the reason for this is that it is close to puerto colon and it has a number of places to eat and plenty of bars when the night drews in, i worked in la pinta in a bar called Strand, that general area has to be my fave!
