What is the law regarding towing trailers in Tenerife?

has anyone any info regarding the law on towing trailers, is it illegal to tow privately?

You cannot tow here without the correct paperwork (isn't that a surprise). A friend of mine mananged to obtain the proper paperwork, but I am going back about 10 years so things may have changed. He had to go to somewhere in Santa Cruz where his car was inspected and then they put a little triangle on the vehicle. It was very expensive to get. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

was wondering coz when we come over feb/mar my hubby wanted to bring a digger over, hoping he may get some work with it later on, but we cant seem to find any info regarding towing a trailer privately. maybe not such a good idea if the cost is extorsionate!!!

Like I said it was ten years ago, my friend paid £1000 to get all the paperwork sorted out. It may be easier now and even cheaper. Unfortunately my friend is in Thailand at the moment so I can't offer you any more help. But if you're not coming over till Feb I may be able to help you in a month or so when he comes back
