Which Timeshare resorts do you consider the best in Tenerife?
Hi All,friends have been offered a timeshare in Tenerife,Hollywood Mirage i think it may be called. Can any board members point them in the right direction?? ie which timeshare resorts are considered the best in the south. There priority points are luxury accommodation and cleanliness, location is not an issue.Thankyou all
Hollywood mirage is once of the nicest resorts in Tenerife, good location in Los Cristainos, central, lots of close amenities, good bars and resuturants, 10 mins from a beach, 25 mins from las vistas beach but it is at the top of a very steep hill.
I don't know where they are purchasing their week from:
if it's a resale then make sure all previous maintance fees are paid up to date
if buying direct from resort properties then you can have a look in the local papers to perhaps find one cheaper
As Hollywood Mirage is a gold crown resort it has good exchange value in the RCI system.
You can check it out on the rci website or resort properties own website to get a better feel for it

They are purchasing 2 weeks in August from the owners themselves, fees are paid, they are paying roughly £3200 for the 2 weeks,it's a 2 bedrooms 2 bathroom unit
If your friends are not bothered about location tell them to have a look at The Regency Country Club in Chayofa, a five minute drive to Cristianos. We bought off plan there 7 years ago after owning at The Regency Club in Torviscas for 10 years. If they are looking for luxury then this is the place. Everything about the resort says luxury from the large infinity pool to the decor and beyond. However on saying that they would be looking at quite a bit more than 3,200 for two weeks.

Are you sure your friend is talking about The Regency Country Club in Chayofa when he says 2 weeks for 4,000. I know you can get the prices down a bit but the going rate at the moment is 9 times that amount for one week. If it is The Regency Club in Torviscas to be honest I wouldn't bother as they gave all owners there a good deal to move up to Chayofa 7 years ago and sold off most off the apartments in Torviscas to Russians

We used to own at Beverly Hills Heights, which is part of the same group of resorts as the Mirage and Beverly Hills Club. We have stayed at the Mirage and the Club in the past and all three of these complex's are excellent. If your friends did decide to purchase here they need to be aware that the resales company, which is based within the complex's, are not to be trusted. They use very 'underhand' sales (that is being very polite) methods to get you to buy extra weeks, upgrade or purchase a 'portfolio', which just means that you end up owning many more weeks than you want or can afford. Timeshare is never an investment despite what you may be told by the salesmen. They will certainly approach your friends should they buy, everytime they visit their apartment. They are to be avoided at all costs. I don't wish to give a totally negative view of Timeshare however, we loved owning ours and had great holidays, the resales people were really the only major negative.

The one thing to guard against is the increase in maintenance fees, check how much they have increased in the last five years... these can cripple if you are not careful
