Washing machine repairer wanted in Tenerife

Does anyone know someone who could fix my washing machine. It keeps stopping during the cycle, which is so annoying, if I don't notice it can take all day to do a wash, stop start stop start. HELP.

Catty, we've had identical problems with our washing machine, and in our case, it was because the incoming water filter was completely blocked up with sand and grit. There might be more than one filter ... we had three. Works fine now, but Jeremy seems to need to rinse out the filters every few months. It might not actually be a problem with the washing machine, as such, at all.

Yep. Same happened with ours until we installed a water filter inline with the mains. Turn the water supply tap to the machine off, unscrew the water hose from the back of the machine, and you can see & clean the plastic filter easily.

Grit & old washing powder can also block the rubber tube from the druim to the pressure sensor inside: you have to take the top off the machine, detach it from the sensor, and blow down the tube to clear it. Reattach and test.

Thanks guys, worked a treat. The filter was really bunged up, not surprising hasn't been done for 5 years. Ran the machine last night and it completed with no delays.
Thanks again.
