My Mood:
For an S.L company set up costs are about 1500 euros formation and it depends on which way you form it you can put approx 3000 euros in which cannot be touched for six months or use something of your business as collateral (sp)

What are the recommendations and requirements to being self-employed?

go to an accountant and let him do it for you - much easier. If I remember correctly, get an NIE number, you register with your town hall, register in social security (just under 240 euros per month) and register with the tax office. I have heard if you want to work from home you will need a project too,but don¡t know if this is true.

You don't have to actually register the business as such. As a guide for you it cost me €800 to register as self employed and become licensed to employ staff. That is what my solicitor charged me for him to do absolutely everthing I required.

As I have previously said Marcos Cabrera in Los Cristianos did all the leg work for my husband. As he was going to be doing his quartely accounts he did not charge him a penny to set everything up and my husband did not have to go anywhere at all, everything was taken care of for him.
