I´m sure they won´t be interested in how "good" life is out here - sounds by the description that they want to highlight "scandals" as opposed to fair representation - hmmm, maybe we should all fire off emails about how great life is - nothing goes wrong etc and see how many "success" stories make it into their TV series.
(Not shooting the messenger Tony but I´d sooner trust a timeshare brochure than a journalist!)

Journalists can twist and turn a story for their own ends, I mean you could even make "Monte Carlo" look a dump if you tried hard enough.
This months "Four Four Two" Uk Football magazine (the biggest selling in the UK with 350,000 copies sold every month) have just released a 6 page colour report on CD Tenerife and the derby game against Las Palmas last March. The reporter followed my Fan Club (Armada Sur) around during the derby day and attempted in his report to paint us in a sort of "ex-pat in the sun hooligan" thing which is totally wrong.
What I am saying is that if a reporter wants to get a story they will take comments out of context and make it into a big headline, so we have to be careful here in Tenerife to make sure that the Island is seen in a positive light for obvious reasons.
Most of the article is good though and very informative and great publicity for us!

couldn't agree more Fred, and your last comment goes for anywhere really, I wouldn't trust a reporter at any level as far as I could chuck them, I have read the article in 442 which doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to the friendly bunch of supporters I experienced when travelling on the Armadur Sur coach to a CDT game, I know this report was a local derby and perhaps different but still, its obvious this reporter had his own agenda, as they all do, and when did the truth get in the way of a good story?
(sorry if this is going slightly off topic, hopefully the relevance is with regard to fair (lol!) reporting)
Aye I've just bought that four four two and read the article. Seems to me as its the same story as over here in England. A small minority of t£@&s who spoil it for the others. Stuff like this always gets blown out of all proportion. I mean for real violence check out Danny Dyer's real football factories on Bravo. As for this tv show, its not going to show how good things are because that doesn't sell. You've only got to watch holidays from hell to show that. Tenerife sadly has the image of drunks, violence and timeshare cons because thats the way its been portrayed. If ITV listened to people like Fred Perry, DaveRock etc here on the forum, they would have a completely different view point to look out. But who here believes thats going to happen?

I saw this 'holiday swap' programme the other day, and they portayed a family of drunken chavs who chose their holiday in.. guess where?
Plenty of footage of the 'bad' family getting pie-eyed in a grotty show bar somewhere in PDLA whilst the 'good' family took in local culture and saw the countryside in Egypt - something they could have done easily in Tenerife instead.

I didn't see that show but have seen it reported elswhere on the forum, and like the football show Atkinson refers to clearly its just sensationalism to sell and grab headlines, its basically just tabloid television isn't it, and it is very sad when people really get taken in and believe that is the real picture
