Can anyone on the Tenerife Forum recommend a good butcher in the south?

having lived here now for 7 months where does one get decent meat from in the south ???

I always go to Mercadona for my meat. I find their choice and prices are very good. Spars also have a butchers counter which I found was very good, but that was in Gran Canaria !!! Other wise stick with Mercadona mate.

I like to get steaks from euromeat market just past las chafiras, but think they will deliver might have to be a mimimum order???

the steaks we have had from there are fab sooooooo tender they are also great if you want stuff for a bbq, good prices also, you can find their number in canarian weekly or call Oasis radio for the number

We have bought quite a bit of meat from Makro. Steak, chicken etc and all has been lovely. But best of all they sell large packs or pork crackling ready for the oven for 75 cents.

Check out the thread Daverock pointed out, El Zorro in Parque de la Reina, the best butchers by far, a bit pricier than the supermarkets but much better quality.

We use our local butchers in El Medano, the steak in there is so tender. But we have also gone to Makro too

Makros good if you happen to have space in your freezer or a big family. Plus you also need a card to get in and not everyone has one.
